Abstract

Process in so-called biofilters in which polluted gas, such as air, is made to pass through, and be cleaned in, a bed of bed media arranged in a container. The moisture content of the bed, and the supply of fluid, such as water, is measured to maintain the desired moisture content. The moisture content of the bed (3) is measured by devices (23) which are not in contact with the bed media. Also claimed are: (i) device in a so-called biofilter; and (ii) a method for carrying out the process.
