Abstract
Hard soldering process comprises (a) forming an arc between the wire electrode and a work piece; (b) maintaining an arc voltage between the electrode and workpiece; (c) feeding the electrode into the arc, where the electrode continuously melts; and (d) screening the arc by introducing protective gas. The novelty is that the arc is maintained between the wire electrode and the workpeice in such a way that an exposed material transfer from the electrode to the workpiece is achieved. The protective gas used in the process is also claimed and comprises an active component of O2, CO2, N2, CO, NO,N2O and H2 and an inert component of Ar and/or He.
