Abstract

A nickel-boron based alloy which contains, in weight percentages, boron 12 to 20%, iron 0.2 to 2%, silicon 0.7 to 5.0%, carbon 0.1 to 3.0%, chromium 0.0 to 15.0%, cobalt 0.0 to 3.0%, molybdenum 0.0 to 3.0%, phosphorus 0.0 to 2.0%, aluminium 0.0 to 0.2% the balance being nickel, incidental ingredients and impurities.
