Abstract

The selective reception device has a controller (111) which directs all the operations of an answering machine. The controller consists a microprocessor containing a ROM for storing the programme and a RAM for storing the data produced by running the programme. A memory (112) stores the table of telephone numbers utilising an EEPROM. The keyboard (113) has keys for setting the functions and modes and also number keys for dialling and for passing commands to the controller. The state of operation is shown on a display unit (114) contained within the answering machine and a call unit (115) recognises a call signal for the control. The relay unit (116) controls the path between the telephone line and the answering machine.
