Abstract

The instrument panel (5) has at least one hollow cavity (14) open towards a side and designed so that a tool (20,22) can be inserted to fit the panel in the assembly position in the vehicle to lift it out. At least one security element (17,18) secures the panel on the tool during the lift process when the tool is inserted the open cavity. The security element comprises a protruding edge (17) engaged by a hooked part (23) on the tool. The protruding edge has a surface (18) directed to the open side of the cavity. A guide can be used to guide the panel in position relative to the tool during insertion of the latter in the cavity.
