Abstract

The leak detection apparatus involves transmitting microwave signals of a predetermined frequency through a section (G) of the conduit (15) or a container (16) carrying the fluid and which is pervious to microwaves. Signals reflected from the medium are used to indicate the presence of gas bubbles, droplets, or a level of liquid moving in the conduit or the container. The conduit is designed with the section pervious to microwaves with a microwave transmitter (S) that transmits microwaves toward the section. The reflected signals are received by a receiver (M) which is connected to a detector (6). The detector transmits a signal to an alarm central when a disturbance is detected.
