Abstract

A thyristor valve for a converter for power transmission by means of high-voltage direct current has a number of preferably series-connected thyristors (T1). Each thyristor has means (NV4, BV2, PG1) adapted to sense when a conduction interval of the thyristor is completed and, during a time interval thereafter, to generate a control signal (RP, RP', RP1) which is supplied to a blocking input (BG) of the thyristor for blocking the firing of the thyristor during said time interval.
