Abstract

Device for generating an electrical signal corresp. to the tension of a thread which is pulled through an arrangement in a thread handling machine, e.g. a spooling machine, loom, knitting machine or a sewing machine. A piezoelectric element fixed to a bendable arm in the device produces an electrical charge proportional to the bending of the arm as it is extended due to the arm bending. The novelty of the device is that the arm (19) is located in a housing (5) with one end movable in the lengthways direction of the housing and the opposing end being coupled together with a travelling element (13) whose opposite free end supports at least one crank arm (14,15). The end of this crank arm is in contact with the thread and is set up so that it moves the travelling element depending on the forces or tension in the thread, whilst the travelling element in turn bends the arm for extending the piezoelectric element correspondingly.
