Abstract

A TTP object handles the trail termination function TF for a layer network X-1, while the CTP object for an overlying layer, the layer network X, handles the adaptation function AF between these two layers. The access point AP represents the physical interface between these two layer networks and thus has characteristics specific for both layer networks. An individual interface object, the AP object or network layer interface object is arranged, where the definitions and parameters represented by the Access Point AP are included in the interface object. By arranging such an interface object the dependencies between the two layers will be simple, since such two objects in different layers will have no relation to each other and since the relation is always through the interface AP object.
