Abstract

An insulator for external wires, for attaching wires to supporting constructions, such as poles and transverse pole supports, where the end of the insulator (1) is permanently provided with a tractive-grip mechanism (2) of a wire having either a region (4) for both the wire traction and a pressing element (7). The said region is terminated, at least at the bottom and sides thereof, by blocks (5, 6) or/and friction plates. The said element is adjustable towards the bottom of the region (4) for the wire traction. Securing areas of both the pressing element (7) and bottom of the region (4) for the wire traction, which are positioned against each other, are equipped with gearing (11, 12) or with a network of recesses to prevent the wire from sliding after mounting thereof.
