Abstract

A container, such as for refuse, features a base that can be opened. This base is able to be opened through there being a bottom section on the container which is positioned to be swung downwards from a closing position relative to the container walls (2). A mechanism for locking of the bottom section relative to the container furthermore in closed position features at least one device (17) that can be accessed from the outside for the container for mechanical manoeuvring of the locking mechanism between a locked position and a position allowing the swinging movement of the bottom section. The lock device (17) extends out past a well (2) of the container. The lock device is positioned from outside a position corresponding to the locking mechanism's locking condition, movable inward to the said wall for activation of the lock mechanism under application of pressure.<IMAGE>
