Abstract

The changing system incorporates a control unit (12) with a micro-computer connected by different signal lines (36) with control units for the fuel system (23), a retarder system (22), and the vehicle brake system (24). - The control unit receives the following input signals: A signal from a brake program contact (27) accessible for foot activation by the driver. The brake program contact activates the delay function via the control unit and also the gear change system change points on brake program contact activation; signal (2) from a clutch contact (30) detects the clutch pedal position; signal (3) from the vehicle foot brake pedal indicating the brake pedal position; signal (4) from the vehicle journey printer with sec. information about vehicle speed or cardan shaft speed; signal (5) from the vehicle gas pedal indicating its position; A signal (7) from an exhaust gas brake flow adjuster (45) is arranged on an instrument panel (2) and signal (8) from the gear lever, indicating the gear system drive station selected by the driver, either in automatic position (A), neutral position (N), manual position (M), or reversing (R).
