Abstract

A cable (K) or other object to be protected, at which overvoltages may arrive via an electric high-voltage power transmission line (L), may be provided with an overvoltage protection means comprising two surge arresters (AL1, AL2) connected to the line, for example zinc-oxide arresters, and an inductor (X) connected into the line between the arresters.
