Abstract
The system comprises two hydrostatic, axially movable axial bearings (3,4) and incorporates a rigidly connected flange (5,6) to the shaft (1), with a pressure surface (5a,6a), which forms a right-angle with the shaft. For each pressure surface a ring chamber bearing (7,8) is provided which has a surface facing the pressure surfaces. In this surface is a ring track (7b,8b). - The surface (7a,8a) forms with the pressure surface inner and outer sealing gaps on opposite sides of the ring track. This forms with the pressure surface a ring chamber to which is fed hydraulic fluid under pressure from a hydraulic fluid source. With the bearing housing (2) the ring chamber bearing forms a chamber set under hydraulic pressure, which presses the ring chamber bearing against the pressure surfaces.
