Abstract

A method and a fuel atomizer (21), for atomizing liquid fuel in a burner (1) for gaseous and liquid fuel wherein the fuel is mixed with an air flow (F) to a fuel mixture for combustion, comprises carrying out the atomization of the liquid fuel through at least one rectilinear fuel atomizer (21), arranged in the burner (1), for spreading a fuel film for atomization. The fuel atomizer (21) gives a local uniform and high air-fuel ratio which results in the burner developing low NOx emissions. The burner (1) preferably consists of a cone-shaped EV burner.
