Abstract
The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for mixing ozone-bearing gas into a pulp-suspension of a cellulosic fibre material, where the pulp-suspension is pumped in through a pulp inlet (1) and mixed with said gas during passage through a processing-section (4) comprising a stator (13) and a rotor (14), coaxial therewith whereafter the ready-mixed pulp-mix flows out through an outlet (10), whereby the pulp-suspension, after passage through the pulp inlet (1), passes a pre-fluidization zone (5) within said processing-section (4) where it is accelerated into a fluidized state by way of fluidization means (22) on the rotor (14), whereafter the fluidized pulp-suspension flows into a mixing zone (6) within the processing-section (4) where said gas is supplied and mixed into the pulp-suspension during passage through an annularly-shaped channel (30) defined between the stator (13) and the rotor (14), in which channel (30) the turbulence-effect and the flock-decomposition in the through-flowing gas-pulp mix are enhanced by way of flow-affecting means (32) along the surfaces of the stator (13) and/or the rotor (14) which face the channel (30).
