Abstract

For simple installation and shock-proof retention of a battery cell (1) in a submarine, the underside of the cell base 3, interrupted by a shoulder, is glued to a large-area hooked footing 4 made of steel, which is clamped to a ship's hooked rail 9 permanently welded to the hull of the ship. Compression forces are transmitted directly to the hooked footing in the centre-of-gravity line M. Tensile forces are transmitted via the container walls 2, 3 and are elastically absorbed by tapered sections 7 of the hooked footing in the boundary region of the base. The steel, one-piece hooked rail of the submarine reacts elastically to shock forces and plastically to overload and thus protects the ship's hull and the cell. <IMAGE>
