Abstract

The invention concerns a sealing and/or holding device (1) which can be fitted between a table top (2) and a supportive structure (3), wherein there can be applied between a table top surface (2a) which faces towards the supportive structure and a supportive structure surface (3a) which faces towards the table top an air flow which will generate a subpressure so as to hold the table top (2) in a given position relative to the supportive structure, or an air flow which will generate an overpressure such as to generate an air cushion on which the table top can be moved. The device (1) surrounds a surface area (A) on the table top and/or the supportive structure, wherein a first surface part (1a) is intended to face towards and coact with the table top surface (2a'') and a second surface part (1b) is intended to face towards and coact with the supportive structure surface (3a''). The two surface parts (1a, 1b) diverge in cross section away from or towards said surface area (A) and at least one of the surfaces, the table top surface or the supportive structure surface, is provided with a recess (6) which diverges in cross section away from or towards the surface area (A).
