Abstract

Shrinking takes place during the time that the packed product is transported in a circular movement on a rotating transporter (2) through a heat zone (1). The shrinking is determined by the speed with which the product is transported through the heat zone and the zone temperature, together with the speed of the medium within the heat zone jointly with the foil properties. Cooling of the package occurs directly when the product leaves the heat zone and enters the cooling zone (3) which consists of the part of the circle outside the circle sector comprising the heat zone.
