Abstract

This invention concerns a device and a method for identifying individual electric conductors in a group (3) of two or more conductors (L1-L3), the group having a first end (4), at which the identities of the conductors are known, and a second end (5), at which the identities of the conductors are unknown and to be established. The identification device (1) comprises two or more conductor connectors (6[L1-L3]), a ground connector (6[0]), and one or more resistors (R1-R3), each of the conductor connectors being electrically connected to the ground connector in such a manner that at least all the conductor connectors except one are connected via at least one of the resistors. Further, the identification device (1) has two or more diodes (D1-D3), and all the conductor connectors are connected to the ground connector by at least one separate diode for each conductor connector, all the diodes being so turned as to conduct current towards the ground connector.
