Abstract

The laminate structure (10) has an alarm mat (2) integrated within it between outer layers (1,3). The alarm mat is constructed from a number of insulated, electrically conductive threads, wires or filaments, or from light-conducting optical fibres (5). The elements in the mat are formed into a fine, knitted mesh. - A security cage is formed by connection of the mat fibre to contact devices. The circuit is broken when a thread is fractured or broken in a attempt to make a hole in the cage. The devices may be connected to a spoiling system to render the objects within the cage useless, and to sound an alarm at the attempt.
