Abstract

The communication connection (1) consists of an optical fibre and transmission device for light pulses. During transmission of information from an information transmitting unit (2) to an information receiving unit (3), the information is transferred from the transmission unit to an optical fibre read-in unit (4) which converts it to optical light pulses transferred to the optical connection (1). - On receipt of the transmitted information, it is converted by a read-out unit (5) and transferred to the information-receiving unit (3). The optical fibres are provided with one or more excitation points (6,7) at which they are doped with a light-amplifying material, pref. erbium, prasedynium or neodynium. To the excitation points (6, 7) are connected units for reading-in and reading-out of information (8, 9).
