Abstract

The invention concerns a device for a permanent communication network 1 which works with one or more workstations 8, 11, 11', 11ö serving the subscribers. The workstations serving the subscribers are provided with a first terminal unit 8 and a number of second terminal units 11, 11', 11ö. An exchange of information is set up between the first terminal unit and the second terminal units. Calls from subscribers in the system 5, 6 which require manual attention are transferred to the first terminal unit 8 where an indication in the first terminal unit shows that calls have come in. The first terminal unit 8 then distributes the number of calls present between the second terminal units 11, 11', 11ö depending upon the current staffing situation at the abovementioned workstations and the number of subscribers who require attention. The second terminal units 11, 11', 11ö then attend to the calls which have come in, which makes possible a more efficient utilization of the staff at the abovementioned workstations. <IMAGE>
