Abstract

Procedure and arrangement for utilizing the residual heat contained in the hot gases in a chimney. The gases are cooled in a housing 16 located in the lower circular part of the chimney 12. The gases are conveyed ideally from the interior 14 of the chimney into the housing. In the chimney wall there are openings 30,50,52 to allow the gases to enter the housing. The housing contains heat- recovery surfaces 32,33,42,54,56 for cooling the gases. The gases are then returned to the chimney via openings 34 in the chimney wall. Collection of condensation water has been arranged in the said housing. <IMAGE>
