Abstract

The invention relates to a scissors-type lifting device having at least two pairs of arms coupled articulately together with each other. The device is primarily intended for use in vertically adjustable work tables in offices and workplaces. The motion of the device is obtained through the use of a motion-generating device, for example an adjusting screw, which works parallel with a slide rail the one end of which is fixed in relation to the motion-generating member and the other end of which runs in a sliding sleeve, so that forces breaking on the scissors-type lifting device are absorbed by the slide rail and the sleeve and are not transmitted to the joints in the device. <IMAGE>
