Abstract

A tool turret comprises a turret head (1), rotatably mounted in a housing (2) in which there is arranged at least one radially movable locking element (7) comprising two detent teeth (8) at its radially outer end which index with a ring gear formed as an internal gear toothing (10), fixedly connected to the housing. A motor driven control body (13) is rotatably mounted coaxially with the turret head (1) having control profiles (16a, 17a) so cooperating with the locking element (7) that. by relative rotation of the control body (13) with respect to the turret head (1), the locking element (7) is movable with its detent teeth (8) into engagement with the internal gear toothing (10) and conversely out of engagement. The locking element also comprises a slot (11) so that upon engagement a tooth (9) can force the detent teeth (8) apart so that locking is obtained. <IMAGE>
