Abstract

The method involves connecting the free end of a suction hose (2) to a suction device (3), placed close to a leakage point (7), with all leakage gas and ambient air being sucked through the suction device, leaving it through a flow meter (8) which determines the flow. - A sample is collected in a sampling vessel(4), e.g. a plastic spray (4), and analysed in a gas chromatograph, so that the gas concn. in the sample is established, after which this result in combination with the unloaded flow is used to calculate the amt. of gas leaked per time unit. - Measuring of leakage flow is likewise completed with reference measurements around the leak point with gas detectors, which give direct measurement results, or with a collection vessel for further analysis. By the reference measurements it is possible to clarify if the test equipment sucks in the adjacent gas leaks or only incompletely so.
