Abstract

The plug comprises a clamp casing (14,16) for fixing the fibre in the connecting plug by engagement with the fibre casing (2) and a coupling ring (32) for connection to the clamping casing. The coupling ring, for connecting the plug to a bayonet ring, connects to a coupling element by a rotary movement. The coupling ring (32) is rotatably arranged in rotation to the clamp casing (14,16) for the purpose of obviating any rotary effect on the optical fibre when the coupling ring is rotated for connecting the plug to the coupling element. A holder part (12) is connected to the centring casing (10) for the optical fibre end part, is concentrically fitted in the coupling ring (32) and is non-rotatable but axially movable in its connection to the end parts of the clamp casing located in the coupling ring.
