Abstract

The adsorption drying plant uses a drying medium in solid form, possibly on a carrier, and is used to dehumidify a gas. It is formed for thermal regeneration of the drying medium either continuously, where a part of it is regenerated simultaneously with another part being available for dehumidifying gas, or intermittently, where the drying medium is submitted to regeneration for a period and in another period for dehumidifying. The drier is provided with fans for forced gas flow for dehumidification. The heat necessary for regeneration is produced in situ in the drying medium by resistive heating, whereby the drying medium, or carrier, is given electrical conductivity properties. The regeneration is effected without air or other gas being fed as heat transmission medium and the drier is gastight so that on regeneration clean water steam is formed which cannot leak out but can be condensed on a selected surface or outside the drier and conducted away or collected.
