Abstract

The invention concerns an arrangement used in a traffic tunnel of the type which is delimited by a bottom surface 3 forming the roadway and a wall 2 extending between opposite end openings, with one or more air-treatment devices 9 being connected to the tunnel with the object of evacuating polluted air from inside the tunnel and cleaning this by filtering before it is released into the atmosphere. Arranged in at least some sections of the tunnel wall 2 there is a covering 10, 10' made up of a large number of projections which protrude inwards from the wall and increase the surface area of the covered wall section by at least 10% and have the object of braking the air which is carried along by vehicles driving through the tunnel, in order thereby to counteract emissions of polluted air through the end openings of the tunnel. <IMAGE>
