Abstract

The invention comprises a balance forming part of a continuous casting machine, which also comprises a casting box 1 containing smelt and a trolley 4. The balance comprises, inter alia, a load carrier 9 which supports the casting box and a balance beam 11 which transfers the load from the load carrier to the trolley. The load carrier is shaped as a U-beam, in the two arms of which two windows 14,15 of parallelepipedal shape and having plane-parallel surfaces parallel with the top side of the load carrier are accommodated. The windows are accommodated two by two directly opposite one another. In the windows there are placed displaceable bearing units 16. The bearing units are connected in pairs to continuous shafts 17,18. The balance beam which is located inside the U-shaped opening of the load carrier comprises two load sensors 19, integrated within the balance beam, for weighing the load and is additionally, directly above the load sensors, provided with holes for the shafts passing between the bearing units. The load carrier with casting box can be displaced in the lateral direction by means of an adjusting mechanism 20 fastened to the trolley. <IMAGE>
