Abstract

The femoral compression device (1) with pressurising appts. (5) for compressive bearing at a puncture site located at the femoral artery of a heart catheterisation patient. A base plate (2) supports the pressurisation appts with a belt (3) fixed round the patient's body with the base plate being in two parts fixed to the belt with the pressurisation appts fixed to the bottom part of the base plate to exert a compressive force against the body at the puncture site. - The top part of the base plate has extensions (2a, 2b) extending in opposite directions and provided with a lock (4). An optical sensor detects bleeding. ADVANTAGE - Improved accuracy of application with increased comfort and greater freedom of movement for patient. (9pp Dwg.No.2/5)
