Abstract

Device for reducing the risk of stalling in an internal combustion engine (1), which is coupled to an electrical machine (3) with both generator and motor functions. The machine is coupled to a control unit (4) disposed to receive signals, e.g. from the ignition and/or fuel injection system (8) of the engine, indicating imminent stalling. Upon receiving such signals, the control unit changes the function of the machine from generator to motor.
