Abstract
The tubular strainer divides the housing into a central sepn. chamber and an outer ring-shaped filtrate chamber for sepd. fibre suspension. An inlet is provided for incoming fibre suspension into the sepn. chamber, an outlet for filtrate from the filtrate chamber, and an outlet for contaiminants from the sepn. chamber. The sepn. chamber comprises a first sepg. part in which the inlet for fibre suspension and the outlet for contaminants issue, and a second sepg. part extending axially along the whole tubular strainer. The first and second sepg. parts are so arranged that they only communicate with each other via a passage located axially outside the strainer. Devices are incorporated for the rotation of fibre suspension in the sepn. chamber around the tubular strainer axis, so that during operation large, relatively heavy contaminants under the effect of centrifugal forces are sepd. from the fibre suspension in the first sepn. part and impelled to the outlet provided for them.
