Abstract

A method of precipitating out undesirable substances from sewage, which is sewage which is derived from the production of mechanical cellulose pulp, preferably chemimechanical pulp, so-called CTMP, and which has been biologically purified and has been detoxified using complex-forming chemicals, such as aluminium sulphate and/or iron chloride, by means of lowering the pH to less than 4.5, preferably to a pH less than 3. <IMAGE>
