Abstract

A safety system in overhead sliding doors comprising hingedly interconnected door panels which by means of rollers (5) are guided in guide tracks (6, 7, 8), is fitted with devices (14) which are hingedly interconnected to the lowermost panel (4) of the door and which comprise signalling means (15) projecting below the lower edge (12) of the door. The devices (14) are guided at a distance from their respective articulation point (21) in the neighbouring vertical section (6) of the track sections (6, 7, 8), whereby during the opening and closing movements of the door the devices are controlled in a manner eliminating any risk that the downwardly projecting means (15) will hit the door frame or any other obstacle when the rollers (5) of the lowermost door panel enters or leave, respectively, the curved sections (8) of the guide tracks (6, 7, 8) and the lowermost panel (4) reverses.
