Abstract

The invention concerns a method and arrangement for recording the condition of a suspension in motion, which suspension can contain fractions with particles of very different sizes. The suspension is illuminated by a beam of light. Light received from the suspension is detected in order to produce an electrical signal corresponding to the detected light intensity. The illumination of the suspension is carried out with a narrow beam of light in relation to the space between large particles. Light received from the suspension is detected within a narrow angular area. An extreme value Vp of the electrical signal is indicated within a previously determined interval of time.
