Abstract

Two sheets of plastics film are welded together, at least along their outer edges (19-22), to form a gastight container. This is inflatable to form a mattress (17) via at least one closable mouthpiece (25). The solar bed itself has means (27, 28) at one end for generating a pneumatic excess pressure. These are partly connectable via a control valve (26) to the mouthpiece for inflation of the container tubes to a desired excess pressure and partly connected to a row of mouthpieces (30) in the bed for generation of air currents between the tubes and their supporting base and a person lying on the bed.
