Abstract

The invention relates to a ventilator for resuscitation and short-term ventilation, which is particularly used in the event of a large number of injured people in disasters where there is a limited supply of compressed air and compressed oxygen. In controlled or assisted ventilation the oxygen is exclusively used as respiratory gas. On connection of several ventilators in parallel, several injured people can be ventilated by a single therapist. According to the invention, one or more O2 connections supply the suction side of the injector via self-locking quick-action coupling, a supply line and a directional control valve. At the outlet side, the injector is connected to a non-return breathing valve with patient connection and expiration connection via a cough valve, a pressure relief valve and a tube, to a control unit via a trigger, to a horn via an amplifier and an AND gate, and to a directional valve via a breathing pressure meter and a second directional control valve.
