Abstract

An air drier is proposed which has a silencer (7) in a housing lower piece (1) in an annular entry chamber (3). This silencer (7) is sound-insulated from the housing lower piece (1) by resilient bearings (plastic rings 8, 9, 10) and is furnished with a honeycomb-like coating (12). As a result it ensures an acoustic uncoupling of the pressure waves and sound waves coming from the compressor. The air drier is for use in compressed-air braking systems of motor vehicles. <IMAGE>
