Abstract

When the carriages approach the filling point e.g. under a pipe provided with automatic opening and closing functions, a sensor probes this movement and causes filling to commence, usually from a silo using fans and a pipe system. Filling takes place with the carriages moving forwards and backwards in order to receive an even fill. - A further sensor reacts when the requisite level has been reached in the carriages, and interrupts the filling process. The carriages then start to move to the fodder distribution points where the material is automatically dispensed in predetermined quantities.
