Abstract

A contact pin (1) has at its connecting end (3) an axial recess surrounded by a wall. An electric wire (2) is connected to the contact pin in that two opposite portions (7, 8) of the wall are radially split, that a part of the wire (2) is disposed in the groove formed by the splitting operation, and that the wall portions (9, 10) located between the split-open wall portions (7, 8) are bent over the wire part in the groove so as to permanently connect the wire to the contact pin. The thickness of the wall is such that the splitting and bending operations are rendered possible.
