Abstract

The corrugation unit comprises partly curved blades fitted on the cylindrical surface of each drum and equally distributed over it, and in at least one row parallel with the drum rotation axis. The concave surfaces fo the curved blades face the direction of movement of the fibre material. Also incorporated in the corrugation unit are guides, located on both sides of the fibre material. Each guide is fitted adjacent to the lateral edge sides of the blades, and interacts with one side of a part of the row of curved blades, in a feed-out zone for a corrugated fibre strip, has a section which is parallel with the direction of movement of the material strip with which it remains in contact. In different formats, the guides can be fixed bars, or endless conveyor belts.
