Abstract

A seat comprises a seat portion (1) which is carried by a stationary support (2) and swivels about a shaft (10) located preferably centrally relative to the seat portion. The seat portion (1) is connected with the support (2) via at least a first guide means (6) which in per se known manner allows displacement of the seat portion relative to the support. The swiveling shaft (10) of the seat portion is positioned or settable eccentrically relative to the centre (C'') of the support (2), and between the movable seat portion (1) and the stationary support (2), there is mounted a preferably mechanical coupling (15) which positively and automatically effects the displacement of the seat portion relative to the guide means, as soon as the seat portion is caused to swivel about the shaft (10).
