Abstract

The invention concerns an arrangement of a pneumatic bearing comprising a bearing body 10 with a bearing surface for movement relative to a corresponding surface, whereby the bearing body 10, via a main air channel 16, is connected to an external compressed air source and equipped with a number of air ducts actively connected with the pressure source, arranged to flow into a number of nozzles in the bearing surface to obtain air flowing out over the corresponding surface in order to create an air cushion. In addition, the bearing surface of the bearing body 10 is constructed with a suction channel passing into it, designed to be connected to a suction pump 60, while the main air channel 16 can be remote- controlled by a valve device 17. According to the invention, the valve device 17 and the suction pump 60 are arranged within the valve body 10, and the main air channel 16 flows into an exhaust channel 30. The suction pump 60 is arranged in the said main air channel 16 in an area between the valve device 17 and the exhaust channel 30, and the suction pump communicates with the suction inlet 14 in the bearing surface of bearing body 10. <IMAGE>
