Abstract

A method of preparing L-valine wherein microorganisms of the genus Brevibacterium, resistant to L-arginine hydroxamate or resistant to both L-arginine hydroxamate and alpha -aminobutyric acid in the presence of L-leucine, are grown in a nutrient medium containing carbon and nitrogen sources, inorganic salts, and growth stimulants with subsequent isolation of L-valine from the culture medium and purification of the same.
