Abstract

The invention concerns a device intended for cleavage sawing of logs and comprising a power-driven saw which is mounted on a carrier 6 moving to and fro along a guide 9 and whose support bar projects out essentially horizontally from the carrier, the individual log during a sawing operation being supported alongside the guide. Arranged along the guide 9 there is a movable log holder 10 which can be secured to one end of the log by means of teeth or the like and which serves as an attachment for a wire 11 included in a winch arrangement connected to the carrier 6, by means of which the carrier and also the power-driven saw itself can be displaced in the direction away from one end of the log towards the opposite end secured to the log holder. <IMAGE>
