Abstract
Control rod for a nuclear reactor having absorber vanes (24), in which an absorber material for neutrons is arranged along the predominant part of the length of the vanes, and which together form a right-angled cross, the control rod being able to be pushed in from underneath between four fuel cartridges (10) and being arranged between a carrier plate (29) and a core grid (25) arranged above the said plate in the core of the nuclear reactor, a bundle of fuel rods and a fuel conduit surrounding this and connected to this belonging to each fuel cartridge and each absorber vane being between two fuel cartridges in the pushed-in position of the control rod. According to the invention, each absorber vane is provided at the upper end of the control rod with an upper section (40) which contains no absorber material. This upper section (40) extends into the core grid in the fully pushed-in position of the control rod. The upper section (40) lies in the same plane as the remaining part of the absorber vane and forms a coherent unit with this. <IMAGE>
