Abstract

An apparatus for processing flat ribbon cables (30) is in the form of pliers which, on two limbs (11, 12) have as their operating elements a bearing surface (14A) for the processed cable (30) on one side and a cutting edge device (16) on the other side. The bearing surface (14A) is provided with a side stop (14B), and the cutting edge (16A) supported by the other limb (11) is located precisely at that distance (b) from this side stop (14B) which corresponds to the desired width of a side part (31) of the cable insulation to be cut off in which no conductors are embedded. <IMAGE>
