Abstract

The body of the contact has a main part, and at least one side part which may be folded outwards, each side part being connected to the main part by a pliable connector. The contact is fitted on the end of an electrical cable (51) comprising a number of leads (52,53,54). The side parts can adopt an assembly position folded outwards from the main part, and a usage position folded inwards. One of the conductors is a rail (3), whilst the other (2) is a contact pin. The main part also incorporates a central part, and a contact pin fixture in which the pin locates when the side parts are in the usage position. It also has a support against which the rail locates when the side parts are in the usage position. The side parts have lock fitments which when the parts are in the usage position grip the central part, locking the side parts in that position by snap effect. The central part comprises two flat, parallel side walls between the support is located, and the rail has the shape of a stirrup clamp with a flat connecting part.
